Dear Becky Pepper-Jackson

This piece begins with something I originally drafted in January 2026, with an update below for the devastating and terrible recent SCOTUS ruling which failed to protect the bodily autonomy and rights of trans people, specifically trans women and girls.

From January 2026:

Dear Becky Pepper-Jackson,

This morning I heard you speaking on a podcast about your fight all the way to SCOTUS to be able to compete in the sport that matches your gender.

You are a really special 15 year old and my admiration for you is so deep. You deserve so much better. But what you’ve done with the shit cards you’ve been dealt is beautiful.

I am so grateful for you. So many of us are. We have your back and you have our admiration and love.

[Here is some Good Morning America Coverage for more background.]

You are my sister and I will fight with you to the bitter end–you are carrying something so big, but I promise, you are not carrying it alone.

This is beautiful. You know exactly who you are.

SCOTUS has been rigged. No matter what those majority bigots may end up saying–you are a girl. You will grow in to a woman. You deserve to participate and compete in women’s sports. Nothing that those bought and purchased puppets of a facist regime may say or decree changes who you are. Your heart. Your bravery. Or your gender. You know this.

Thank you!

Update on 7/1/26:

Dear Becky Pepper-Jackson, again,

SCOTUS did you and all trans girl and trans women athletes a HUGE and gross injustice yesterday.

Your bravery and resilience is incredibly inspiring. I’m still so grateful for what you’ve done. The ruling was simply wrong and anyone who understands even the most bare elements of the sacred nature of bodily autonomy agrees.

It’s not lost on me that the ghouls who are making these laws and upholding them have never actually cared about women and girls. They don’t want any kind of true end to misogyny. They want to enforce strict gender roles in every way. Sports are a convenient time to pretend they care. But they’ve never given a shit that people who are able bodied, those with certain genetic makeup have TRUE VERIFIABLE “biological advantages” compete constantly in sports taking space over those who are disabled, battling illnesses, are very short, etc etc etc etc.

They only want to hurt trans girls and women and attempt to erase them from society. So many of us join you in knowing that this is “one part of a plan to push transgender people…out of public life entirely.”

You are clearly a bad ass. SCOTUS is clearly wrong.

XO
